Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, ex-chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She is the host of her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spiky blonde hair and a pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants in her series Secrets of a Restaurant. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also explored Italy's cuisine and its culture as well as the environment. While living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic experience. Culinary Institute of America was an excellent location to learn. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Her time spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate where she promotes awareness of the condition of children with diabetes. Burrell is often a guest presenter at conferences, and she travels throughout the United States as part of her mentorship task.
